Siblings of Children with Special Needs

These children and teens need support and are often overlooked.

I provide a safe space for siblings to cope with the unique difficulties of living with a disabled brother or sister.

There are a variety of services for children with special needs and disabilities.

For siblings of these children, the resources just aren’t there. There are very unique issues that these children face that aren’t easily understood by others:

~ Feeling like they need to be perfect for their parents because their parents already have enough on their plate

~ Feeling neglected or forgotten in the sea of appointments and services for their sibling

~ Feeling the need to contribute to caregiving despite also being a child

~ Feeling worried about the future of their siblings and their well-being

…and many more.

I am passionate about this unique group of individuals and want to help them feel comfortable defining who they are as an individual and within the family unit.
